Spring League Information

For High School/Prep School Players

All games held at the Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington, Mass.
Beginning Sunday mornings and afternoons in Mid April.

Most hockey players recognize that the regular practices and competition of the scholastic season provides for a major improvement in their game. Skating, puck control, and game skills certainly advanced as the season progressed.

While the spring brings a welcome change of pace and interests, many players seek to retain those hard earned skills by continuing to play once a week.

Over the years, players and families have recognized that a Managed Player Development League is the best way to go. In fact, many have found their skills were not just maintained, but enhanced!

  • Teams that are balanced, and rebalanced to provide fair and equal competition.
  • Experienced Professional Scholastic Coaches focused on teaching.
  • A prevailing atmosphere where personal effort and accomplishments is emphasized.
  • Freedom to experiment with new methods without undue pressure or repercussion.
  • A league that is directed towards improvement, rather than winning.

NEWHL has been offering this program to female players since 1999. As the league is constantly looking to improve off of previous seasons, the league has incorporated suggestions from parent/player questionnaires and coaches. These important participant input and program adjustments are what make the NEWHL both unique and highly successful.
